South Korean STEM students visit China for AI and digital economy exchange

Eighteen STEM students from Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University participated in the ‘China-South Korea Youth AI and Digital Economy Exchange Camp’ held in Beijing from August 16 to 22. Hosted by the China International Youth Exchange Center, the seven-day program aimed to explore the industrial applications of artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

Participants visited various high-tech sites, including the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone and the World Robot Conference. They also toured local technology firms such as iSOFTSTONE, BGI, and Zhipu AI to observe the integration of AI and robotics into urban infrastructure and daily life. The program included expert lectures and visits to smart districts like Sanlitun to witness digital technology in practice.

In addition to technical tours, the camp facilitated cultural exchange through visits to historical landmarks like the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. The initiative sought to foster cooperation and understanding between the youth of both nations regarding future technological challenges and opportunities.
