South Korean Universities Expand International Programs with Australia Study Tour and Jeju Summer Semester

Gyeongbuk Health University sent 20 nursing and beauty‑design students to James Cook University in Australia for a two‑week "EAST Challenge" program that combined English language classes, core‑skill workshops and self‑directed learning. The university said the experience aimed to build students' global competence and confidence in a foreign environment.

Jeju University and Hanyang University jointly ran an International Summer Semester in Jeju Island, hosting about 950 participants from more than 50 countries, including 901 foreign exchange students. Over five days, students earned academic credit while taking classes, touring cultural sites and engaging in campus activities, positioning Jeju as a global education hub and supporting regional tourism and economic activity.
