South Korean universities join national startup mentoring project
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is conducting the second phase of the ‘Everyone’s Startup Project,’ a national initiative designed to support citizens with innovative ideas through the process of business development. The program has expanded its recruitment to 10,000 participants, doubling the scale of the first phase.
University of Seoul has been selected as a mentor institution for the general and technology startup tracks. The university will offer specialized programs, including one-day intensive business plan training and information sessions, to help applicants lower the barriers to entry. Applicants must select ‘University of Seoul’ as their mentor institution to access these specific benefits.
Dankook University is also participating as a mentor institution, offering incubation programs for prospective entrepreneurs and those with businesses established within the last seven years. Participants who succeed in the project can receive significant financial support, including prize money and commercialization funds totaling up to 1 billion KRW.
Dankook University will host an information session for the Gyeonggi region on September 8 to guide potential applicants through the evaluation and business model enhancement processes.
