South Korean women's volleyball loses 0-3 to Japan in Asian Championship

The South Korean women's national volleyball team suffered a 0-3 defeat against Japan in their second Group C match of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. The match, held at the Tianjin Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in China, saw set scores of 31-33, 19-25, and 20-25.

South Korea struggled to close out tight moments, most notably in the first set which went to a long deuce before Japan secured the win. Despite the loss, South Korea remains second in Group C with one win and one loss, following a previous victory over Vietnam.

Na Hyeon-su led the Korean scoring with 15 points, supported by Yuk Seo-young (12 points) and Lee Da-hyeon (11 points). The tournament serves as a critical pathway for 2028 Los Angeles Olympics qualification, with the winner earning a direct spot. South Korea's next group stage match is scheduled against Hong Kong on the 26th.
