South Korean women's volleyball team qualifies for 2027 FIVB World Cup

The South Korean women's national volleyball team has secured a spot in the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. According to the FIVB, the team qualified based on their current world ranking of 27th.

Although the team failed to secure a direct qualification spot through the Asian Championship by failing to reach the semifinals, their world ranking allowed them to join the 32 participating nations. The 2027 World Cup, which serves as a qualifying event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, will be held in the United States and Canada from August 20 to September 5, 2027.

For the South Korean team, the tournament is a critical opportunity to reach the Olympics. The top three teams from the World Cup that have not already qualified via continental championships will earn direct entry to the LA Olympics.
