South Korea's Big Four Launch Fanomenon K‑Pop Festival for Dec 2027
South Korea’s four leading entertainment companies—HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment—have formed a joint venture to create Fanomenon, an 11‑day K‑pop festival and awards event. The celebration will run from December 2 to December 12, 2027, with concerts and ceremonies at the under‑construction Seoul Arena and exhibitions at KINTEX in Goyang.
Organisers project 520,000 attendees, including 200,000 international visitors, and an economic impact of roughly 1 trillion won (about $680 million). The festival will reward the ten most influential K‑pop fan communities and showcase broader Korean cultural products such as food, fashion and film. The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, represented by Minister Chae Hwi‑young, supports the initiative, citing cultural influence and tourism benefits. A Los Angeles edition is planned for May 2028, aiming to establish Fanomenon as a global event comparable to Coachella.
