South Korea's Busan and Gyeonggi-do Plan 2027 Teacher Recruitments

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced it will recruit 550 teachers for the 2027 academic year, covering kindergarten (9), elementary (173), special education (9) and secondary schools (359) with detailed sub‑categories such as health, library, counseling and nutrition staff. Application windows run from late September to mid‑October, with written exams scheduled for early November.

The Gyeonggi-do Office of Education similarly previewed its 2027 public‑school hiring plan, targeting 2,799 teachers across kindergarten (177), elementary (883), secondary (1,145) and special education (352) plus health, library, counseling and nutrition positions. Applications open 28 September–2 October for early‑career posts and 12 October–16 October for secondary posts, with first‑stage exams on 7 November and 28 November respectively. Superintendent An Min‑seok noted procedural changes such as the shift of English assessment to the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation and revisions to music practical exams.

Both announcements reflect the Ministry of Education’s broader effort to adjust teacher numbers in line with enrollment trends and retirement schedules.
