South Korea's Chungnam and Gyeongnam Provinces Launch Task Forces for Advanced Industry Investment
Chungcheong‑Nam (Chungnam) Province announced the creation of a dedicated task force to drive a "strategic advanced‑industry leap" worth 202 billion USD in the Chungcheong region. The team, reporting directly to the provincial governor, brings together 14 provincial departments, three local governments and leading corporations such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, SK Telecom and others. It will deliver five‑pillar support—corporate liaison, permit fast‑tracking, infrastructure provision, workforce development and financing—through assigned project‑managers, a hotline and a fast‑track system, with a comprehensive support plan slated for release by 30 June.
Gyeongsang‑Nam (Gyeongnam) Province convened its 9th Investment‑Attraction Advisory Committee in Seoul, led by Governor Park Wan‑so. The province outlined a one‑stop, end‑to‑end assistance model for large‑scale advanced‑industry projects, targeting aerospace, defense, logistics and related sectors. Highlighted projects include a 10 trillion‑won Samsung Heavy Industries marine‑yard, a Hanwha Aerospace AI data centre, Hyundai Wia heat‑management production lines, LG HVAC AI systems, Doosan SMR small‑modular reactors and an SK Telecom multi‑gigawatt data centre. The province is also pushing two special‑law bills for aerospace and South‑Coast development through the National Assembly.
