South Korea's 'Kim Bu Jang' drama surpasses 15% viewership rating

SBS's weekend drama ‘Kim Bu Jang’ recorded a 15.7% nationwide rating and 15.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area for its second episode, with a momentary peak of 18.1%. The figures topped its time‑slot, set a new high for SBS dramas this year and marked the first 15%‑plus rating in five years since ‘Penthouse 3’ in 2021.

The series, adapted from a popular webtoon, follows former operative Kim Bu Jang (played by So Ji‑sub) as he battles to rescue his missing daughter. Supporting actors Yoon Kyung‑ho, Choi Dae‑hoon and others have highlighted the strong audience response, with Yoon noting a promise to observe 13 hours of silent meditation if the drama exceeded a 13% rating.
