South Korea's Kim Yong-beom details high‑price housing tax reforms and US investment project
Policy office chief Kim Yong-beom said the government plans to apply differentiated taxes to multiple‑home owners, non‑resident owners and ultra‑high‑price properties. He indicated that criteria and tax levels will be finalized in a tax‑law amendment slated for release at the end of July, after a presidential‐led housing policy forum.
He also revealed that South Korea is analysing a “first US investment” project, with industry minister Kim Jung‑gwan expected to travel to the United States soon. The government aims to create a special law and a dedicated corporation to facilitate the investment, hoping to conclude agreements within the next few months.
