South Korea's People Power Party leader Jang Dong‑hyeok calls for strict disciplinary action
People Power Party (PPP) chairman Jang Dong‑hyeok said that former lawmaker Han Dong‑hoon was expelled from the party for criminal conduct and urged that any member involved in similar wrongdoing be permanently barred from rejoining. He stressed that the party should amend its constitution if necessary to enforce “severe disciplinary measures” and rejected claims that he had singled out a specific individual. Jang also warned that “the person shooting at our side is the biggest minus” and urged the party to focus on restoring law‑based governance and rebuilding conservatism. He reiterated his intention to remain as party leader and said future political direction will be decided by party members and the public.
