South Korea's World Cup matches spark street cheers and delivery boom in Seoul

The same match triggered a sharp rise in food‑delivery orders across Seoul. Delivery platform Baemin reported that chicken orders jumped 878.8% (roughly ten‑fold) between 9 a.m. and noon, with pizza up 220.8% and other items such as pork trotters and bossam increasing by about 98%. Convenience‑store sales in the Gwanghwamun area rose 3.4 times, driven by drinks, ready‑to‑eat meals and even portable chargers, reflecting the lunchtime cheering demand among office workers and students.
