South Park returns for Season 29 with ‘South America’ rebrand

The animated series South Park has returned for its 29th season on Comedy Central, featuring a satirical rebrand where the town is renamed ‘South America’. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone indicated the name change is a comedic jab at political efforts to rename geographic landmarks.

The season premiere, titled ‘South American Biker Gangs’, focuses on the social chaos caused by the arrival of e-bikes in the town. The episode follows the main characters—Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny—as they navigate the e-bike craze, which leads to tensions between children and parents.

Following a recent Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, the new season will air bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central. Episodes will be available for streaming the following day on Paramount+ in the United States, Canada, and Australia. In Spain, new episodes are scheduled to premiere on Comedy Central in VOSE starting September 18.
