South Sinai Governor discusses social housing and infrastructure

The Governor of South Sinai, Ismail Mohamed Kamal, presided over the third meeting of the Economic Housing Fund board for 2026. The meeting focused on expanding social housing and Bedouin housing projects across various cities in the governorate, including Ras Sedr, Tawra Sina, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Taba.

Key discussions included the provision of essential utilities and infrastructure for proposed new social housing sites to prepare them for residential projects. The board also reviewed the financial status of the fund and coordinated with relevant authorities regarding land allocation for these developments.

Additionally, the board reviewed financial entitlements involving the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund and the National Authority for the Development of the Sinai Peninsula resulting from state land sales. Specific attention was given to housing for Bedouin communities, including 232 homes in Ras Sedr designated for flood victims and 60 homes in Taba's Al-Naqab village regarding usufruct rights.
