South Sinai Governor launches education plan for Bedouin communities
The Governor of South Sinai, Ismail Mohamed Kamal, has ordered the implementation of an executive plan to develop the education system within valleys and Bedouin communities. The initiative aims to address geographical challenges, such as long distances, teacher shortages in specific disciplines, and low student numbers in remote areas.
Scheduled to begin in the second academic semester, the plan includes stabilizing and localizing teachers, redistributing resources, and expanding the use of technology and distance learning. Proposed solutions involve creating central schools to consolidate students in certain areas and utilizing digital content for those in far-reaching locations.
The strategy also emphasizes the role of 'Bedouin pioneers' to act as a link between schools, families, and the local community. The governor stressed that the development of education in these regions is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation between the governorate, the Directorate of Education, civil society, investors, and tribal leaders.
