South Sulawesi Governor inaugurates Burung-Burung–Bili-Bili road

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman officially inaugurated the 6.95-kilometer Burung-Burung–Bili-Bili road in Pattallassang, Gowa Regency, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The infrastructure project was completed under a multi-year contract scheme as part of a larger Rp430 billion provincial program covering 13 road sections across Makassar, Gowa, Sinjai, and Bulukumba.

The new road features high-quality K-400 concrete construction with a thickness of approximately 40 centimeters, including road markings and green-painted shoulders for pedestrians and cyclists. The project aims to improve community mobility and connectivity to strategic areas and tourism destinations.

During the ceremony, Governor Sulaiman criticized the absence of Gowa's Acting Regent, Darmawangsyah Muin. The Governor noted that while provincial leadership, including the Vice Governor, was present to support local infrastructure, the local head of the district was not in attendance.
