South Sulawesi Governor inspects Makassar gas stations amid fuel queues

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman conducted an inspection of a gas station in Makassar following reports of long vehicle queues. During the visit to a station on Jalan AP Pettarani, the Governor discovered operational inefficiencies, noting that only one operator was serving four available fuel nozzles.

In addition to staffing issues, the Governor highlighted concerns regarding modified fuel tanks and vehicles making repeated trips to refuel, which may be contributing to the queues. He stated that the provincial government will investigate whether the shortages are caused by service issues, purchasing patterns, distribution delays, or exploitation of the situation.
