South Sulawesi Governor promotes Middle East education for Unismuh Al-Qur’an students

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman has encouraged Al-Qur’an memorization students at Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar to pursue higher education opportunities in the Middle East. During the inauguration of the Markaz Huffadz Al-Qur’an and the female Tahfidz Al-Qur’an House, the Governor suggested that students could participate in exchange programs or pursue master's degrees in locations such as Dubai.

The Governor emphasized that these students, whom he referred to as the “generation of Al-Qur’an guardians,” should expand their academic and scientific capacities beyond mere memorization. The Markaz Huffadz is designed for students who already possess memorization skills prior to entering university, while the Tahfidz house in Gowa supports those currently in the process of memorizing.

The establishment of these facilities is part of a long-standing collaboration between the Muhammadiyah organization in South Sulawesi and the family of Dr. (HC) Syekh Mohammad MT Al Khoory, which supports education, preaching, and humanitarian activities in the region.
