South Sulawesi legislators oversee 2026 regional budget, urging public involvement

Chair of Commission E of the South Sulawesi provincial parliament, Andi Tenri Indah (Gerindra), led a public forum in Panakukang Village, Gowa, to promote citizen participation in monitoring the 2026 regional budget (APBD). She stressed that oversight should extend beyond the DPRD, focusing on education, health, and welfare services, and invited residents to report on program implementation and local needs such as fertilizer access and road conditions.

Golkar deputy Lukman B. Kady conducted a second oversight visit the next day in Bontoala Village, also in Gowa. The session reviewed local education facilities and the recently launched "Kampung Keluarga Berkualitas" program, while villagers called for a new farm road. Kady affirmed that the collected aspirations will be forwarded to the provincial DPRD for evaluation and advocacy.

Both officials highlighted the importance of transparent budget execution and direct community feedback to ensure that public funds address local priorities effectively.
