South Sumatra Police Distribute Sacrificial Animals and Crack Down on Robberies Ahead of Iduladha
The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) led by Irjen Sandi Nugroho distributed sacrificial cows to communities in Ogan Komering Ulu and Muara Enim districts as part of a humanitarian program before the Iduladha holiday. The animals were handed over to a local pesantren and a mosque, with officials emphasizing that the aid reflects the police’s “humanistic approach” to strengthen social resilience.
In a separate security initiative, the same police command ordered intensified patrols and stricter enforcement against begal (road robber) groups across the province. Officers were instructed to use the 24‑hour emergency line 110 and to act “tegas dan terukur” (firmly and proportionately) against perpetrators, aiming to improve public safety ahead of the festive period.
