South Sumatra police train in X-Fire forest fire suppression

Police forces in South Sumatra, Indonesia, are conducting training and simulations to enhance their ability to combat forest and land fires (karhutla) using a specialized firefighting formula known as X-Fire.

In Muara Enim, the South Sumatra Regional Police demonstrated the use of X-Fire in the peatlands of Teluk Limau Village as part of Operation Aman Nusa II. The exercise focused on technical skills required to manage peatland fires, which necessitate thorough cooling to prevent reignition. High-ranking officials, including the Head of Operations and the Head of Brimob, supervised the simulation, which involved the mixing and spraying of the formula.

Similarly, the OKU Timur Police held training sessions at the Satya Haprabu parade ground. Personnel practiced the preparation, mixing, and application of X-Fire 01 and X-Fire 02. According to local police leadership, the X-Fire mixture is expected to be more effective than water alone, as it works to lower temperatures and suppress embers located beneath the surface of the ground.
