South Tyrol promotes culinary and outdoor tourism

South Tyrol is offering diverse culinary and outdoor experiences, particularly in the Meran and Ahrntal regions. In Meran, Sissi Tours provides E-bike and walking excursions that highlight local gastronomy. A new tour scheduled for spring 2026, titled ‘Der schlafende Riese’, features a 35-kilometer route through Algund orchards, the Blumenthalerhof farm, and the Plonerhof winery, concluding at the Meran horse racing track.

In the Ahrntal valley, tourism focuses on traditional alpine products and hiking. The region is noted for its ‘Graukäse’ cheese and gourmet dining options set against the backdrop of the Zillertal Alps and the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. Visitors can engage in hut-to-hut hiking, explore local organic design hotels, and visit landmarks such as the Reinbach waterfalls.
