South West Water addresses supply disruptions in Devon
South West Water has addressed recent water supply disruptions affecting several towns in Devon, including Paignton, Kingsbridge, Buckfastleigh, and Totnes. The issues, which began on a Thursday evening, were attributed to equipment problems at a water treatment works causing low pressure, as well as air pockets forming within the network.
Engineers worked through the weekend to restore service. The company noted that some customers might experience slightly discoloured water following repairs, but advised that the water remains safe to drink and that running cold kitchen taps should clear the discoloration within 24 hours. Bottled water stations were established in Kingsbridge and Dartington to assist affected residents.
