Southampton cruise operations disrupted by storms and strikes

Severe weather and industrial action in France have caused significant disruptions to cruise sailings departing from Southampton. Both P&O Cruises and MSC Cruises have been forced to alter itineraries, resulting in delayed departures, cancelled ports, and shortened holidays.

P&O Cruises reported that the Ventura arrived in Southampton 24 hours later than scheduled due to the impact of Storm Austen and Storm Boelo. Consequently, the company has reduced its subsequent seven-night sailing to six nights.

MSC Cruises also faced complications, with the MSC Virtuosa remaining in Southampton overnight rather than departing on schedule. The cruise line removed two French ports from its itinerary, replacing them with a stop in Spain. These changes affect passengers traveling to destinations in France, Spain, and Portugal.
