Southeast Asian manufacturing hubs ranked by power capacity

A new ranking from SEAsia Stats Research identifies the largest manufacturing hubs in Southeast Asia based on power capacity. Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) leads the region with a capacity exceeding 13,000 MW.

Vietnam’s Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) system ranks second, boasting a capacity of over 10,000 MW. VSIP is a joint venture between Vietnam’s Becamex IDC and Singapore’s Sembcorp Development Ltd, operating 26 industrial parks across Vietnam.

Other major hubs include Malaysia’s Bintulu Industrial Park at 8,000 MW and Indonesia’s Jababeka-Cikarang cluster at 5,600 MW. Singapore’s Jurong Industrial Park follows with 3,000 MW. The rankings highlight an intensifying regional competition to develop industrial infrastructure to attract multinational investment in sectors such as electronics, automotive, and petrochemicals.
