Southeast Sulawesi housing assistance to increase to 10,000 units

The Indonesian government is significantly increasing housing development programs in Southeast Sulawesi to address a regional housing backlog of approximately 119,000 units. For 2026, the allocation for the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program in the province will rise to 10,000 units, up from 3,077 units in 2025.

In addition to the BSPS increase, the government aims to provide 20,000 subsidized housing units to meet community needs. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, noted that these initiatives are intended to stimulate the local economy through labor-intensive programs and create a high multiplier effect.

To further support housing access, the Ministry is targeting the distribution of Rp500 billion in Housing People's Business Credit (KUR Perumahan) for Southeast Sulawesi by August 2026.
