Southeast Wyoming and Colorado’s Cheyenne County face 103°F heat wave

Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, is set to reach a high of about 103 °F on Monday before thunderstorms and a cooler air mass lower temperatures into the low 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service forecasts a 50 % chance of showers and thunderstorms late Monday night, with increasing rain probabilities on Tuesday (30‑60 %) and Wednesday (40‑65 %).

At the same time, southeast Wyoming is experiencing a peak heat wave with temperatures in the 100 °F range across the High Plains. Heat advisories and extreme‑heat warnings remain in effect until 9 PM, after which they are expected to expire as cooler monsoon moisture arrives. Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid‑90s to low‑100s on Sunday, with scattered thunderstorms providing limited relief.
