Southern beverage producers expand products and exports

Beverage producers in the southern regions of Argentina and Chile are expanding their product lines and international reach using local ingredients.

In Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, breweries Leun, Karukinka, and Jokten have developed new craft beer varieties incorporating local botanical ingredients. Supported by technical assistance from the CRELTEC Foundation and visual identity design by Canelo Studio, these products will be presented to the community in Río Grande and Ushuaia.

In Chile, Cervecería Austral, a 130-year-old brewery based in Punta Arenas, is working to enter the Brazilian market following participation in the APAS international fair in São Paulo. Meanwhile, a family-run distillery in Puerto Natales, Last Hope, has completed its first shipment of gin to Japan. The distillery utilizes local botanicals such as maqui and cedrón.
