Southern Brazil weather forecast warns of storms and wind

Unstable weather conditions are expected across parts of southern Brazil this weekend. In Castro, Paraná, temperatures are forecasted to reach 27°C with a 94% probability of rain, primarily between late morning and afternoon. Wind gusts in the region may reach up to 65 km/h.

In Santa Catarina, meteorologists warn of potential severe storms, including moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, wind gusts, and hail. The instability is driven by an approaching cold front and an extratropical cyclone forming off the coast of Rio Grande do Sul. While temperatures in Santa Catarina may reach 30°C in the north, persistent and heavy rainfall is expected to increase through Sunday and Monday, leading to a decline in temperatures as a cold, dry air mass moves in by Tuesday.
