Southern California Edison offers $1 billion for Eaton Fire recovery
Southern California Edison (SCE) has offered more than $1 billion in compensation through its Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program to assist those impacted by the Eaton Fire. The voluntary program aims to provide a streamlined alternative to litigation, offering financial relief to eligible individuals, families, and businesses.
As of late September, SCE reported receiving nearly 4,900 claims involving over 14,900 applicants. The company has already issued compensation totaling more than $525 million to over 3,700 applicants, with additional settlement offers exceeding $970 million currently being processed.
Eligible community members must submit their claims by the November 30 deadline to remain eligible for the program. To assist with the process, SCE is hosting several information sessions, including community meetings in Irwindale and Pasadena, as well as online sessions throughout October and November.
