Southern California hosts KMT delegation and U.S. congressional fundraiser

A Kuomintang (KMT) delegation, including Chief Deputy Secretary-General Hong Meng-kai, legislator Huang Jen-hao, and party advisor Li Te-wei, conducted a 24-hour visit to Southern California. During a meeting with approximately 300 overseas Chinese residents, the delegation discussed cross-strait relations, national defense, and the future of the KMT. Hong Meng-kai emphasized the party's commitment to defending the Republic of China and maintaining peace in the Taiwan Strait, while noting that defense budgets must undergo parliamentary oversight.

In a separate political event in Rowland Heights, California, a fundraising dinner was held for Eric Ching, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 31st District. Attendees, including community leaders and various ethnic groups, discussed the importance of protecting American freedoms and expressed concerns regarding the influence of communism. Speakers at the event highlighted the need for leadership that upholds constitutional principles and religious values.
