Southern Indiana launches poll for favorite marching band

A public poll has been launched to name the best marching band in Southern Indiana. The poll allows residents to vote for their favorite local bands through October 4, 2026.

The voting coincides with the upcoming 2026 Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) competition season. ISSMA competitions are divided into the Scholastic Class, designed for smaller schools or those with fewer resources, and the Open Class. Both categories are further categorized by school enrollment.

Key dates for the 2026 season include Scholastic Class Prelims on October 3 and Open Class Regionals on October 10. The season will culminate with the Open Class State Finals held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on November 7.
