Southern Jaguars defeat Kentucky State 34-15

The Kentucky State Thorobreds football team lost 34-15 to the Southern Jaguars at A. W. Mumford Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Despite the loss, Kentucky State outgained Southern offensively, recording 378 total yards.

Kentucky State controlled the first quarter, outgaining Southern 85-37. However, a second-quarter interception returned 83 yards for a touchdown gave Southern a 7-0 lead. Kentucky State later secured a safety to cut the deficit to 7-2. In the third quarter, Juan Gainous connected with Tristan Thomas for a 72-yard touchdown pass to bring the score to 27-9, but Southern ultimately maintained their lead to secure the victory.
