Southern Transitional Council marks 63rd anniversary of October 14 Revolution
The Southern Transitional Council (STC) issued a statement in Aden commemorating the 63rd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution. The council emphasized that the struggle of Southern Yemenis is a national battle to defend their land, identity, and the right to restore their state, while explicitly rejecting any sectarian or denominational characterization of the conflict.
The STC stated that the international and regional communities increasingly recognize that the battles fought by Southern forces against Houthi militias and terrorist groups extend beyond mere border protection. The statement also called on the international community to recognize the constitutional declaration issued by the STC in January.
In related commemorations, officials in Lahj and the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs and Revolutionaries' Families expressed support for the political leadership, including President Rashad al-Alimi. They highlighted the historical significance of the 1963 revolution in ending British colonial rule and linked the spirit of that independence to current efforts to defend the republic and combat Houthi militias.
