Southern Transitional Council rejects involvement in military escalations

The General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held a periodic meeting in Aden to address regional security and political developments. During the session, the Secretariat praised the social and tribal awareness in the south regarding the refusal to involve southern forces in military escalations between Houthi militias and other conflicting parties.

The STC emphasized that any military involvement must be based on a clear political vision that prioritizes the interests and national cause of the southern people. While acknowledging the need to protect southern borders and maritime security, including the Bab al-Mandab strait, the Council stated it rejects participation in open warfare without a shared political and military strategy that guarantees the future of the southern cause.

Additionally, the meeting condemned the suppression of peaceful protests in Aden, specifically regarding the decision to prohibit the singing of the southern national anthem in schools, labeling such actions as violations of public rights and freedoms.
