Southwold cafe owner to close Pit Stop Cafe after 27 years

Anne Clarke, owner of the Pit Stop Cafe and Tennis Courts in Southwold, will close her business on October 31 after 27 years of operation. The closure follows the Common Trust's decision not to renew her lease.

The Trust intends to redevelop the site into a picnic and leisure area featuring accessible seating, supported by a grant. While the Trust stated the cafe's building was deemed unsafe, Clarke expressed frustration over a lack of communication from trustees and noted that she had previously funded repairs to the premises. She is required to vacate the site by November 16.
