Soweto player wins R93.5 million PowerBall jackpot

A mystery player in Soweto has won a R93.5 million PowerBall jackpot. The winning ticket for draw number 1748 was purchased at Pronto Fruit and Vegetables in Molapo on Friday, 21 August 2026. The winning numbers were 2, 4, 5, 24, 49, with a PowerBall bonus of 4.

Sizekhaya Holdings, the operator of South Africa’s National Lottery, has urged the winner to come forward and claim the prize. Fundi Sithebe, Chief Operating Officer of Sizekhaya, described the win as “truly extraordinary,” noting it is one of the largest jackpots recorded since the company took over operations on 1 June 2026.

In separate lottery results for Wednesday, 26 August 2026, the Lotto jackpot reached R18 million after 10 rollovers, while the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot stood at R4 million and the Lotto 5 Max jackpot at R5 million.
