Soy Frankelda wins Ariel Award for Best Animated Feature
The animated film ‘Soy Frankelda’ made history at the 68th Ariel Awards by winning the prize for Best Animated Feature Film. Directed by brothers Arturo and Roy Ambriz Rendón, the film is the first Mexican stop-motion feature to win in this category.
Produced by Cinema Fantasma, the project involved three years of artisanal work, including the creation of over 200 puppets and 60 physical sets. The production avoided green screens, opting instead for manual craftsmanship with more than 100 creatives working frame by frame. During the ceremony at Estudios Churubusco, the directors expressed gratitude to filmmaker Guillermo del Toro for his friendship and guidance during the project's early stages.
