Soy Rumano en Sabadell launches Romanian cultural project

The Soy Rumano en Sabadell Association has launched the ‘Dor de țară’ project in Sabadell, Spain, aimed at preserving Romanian cultural, linguistic, and religious identity within the diaspora. Supported by the Department for Romanians Abroad, the initiative runs through December 2026 with a budget of 105,500 lei.

The project focuses on intergenerational connection, using practical activities to teach traditions to children and youth. Planned activities include Easter workshops, concerts, and community gatherings such as ‘Spring and the Magic of Femininity’ and the ‘Dor de prăjituri de casă’ charitable event.

Funding has been utilized to acquire IT equipment, audio gear, and traditional folk costumes to establish a permanent cultural space for recurring community meetings and future projects.
