Soybean prices rise in Argentina amid strong meal demand

Soybean prices in the Argentine market are showing strength, driven largely by high demand for soybean meal. While soybean oil and U.S. bean prices faced declines, the Rosario futures market moved against the downward trend seen in Chicago.

Major companies, including Aceitera General Deheza (AGD), Bunge, Cargill, Cofco, Molinos Agro, and YPF, have registered external sales declarations for nearly 500,000 tons of soybean meal for shipment in the final quarter of 2026. In the Rosario market, the November 2026 contract closed at 381.6 USD per ton, while the May 2027 contract for the new campaign reached 364.2 USD per ton.

Local market volatility is being influenced by the final stages of the soybean harvest, domestic economic factors such as inflation and exchange rate instability, and international demand, particularly from China. The current price is reported at 558,000 ARS per ton.
