SPÖ faces deepening leadership crisis and electoral pressure

Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer is noted for his economic expertise and relatively positive popularity ratings, though questions remain about his ability to lead a fractured party. Other names mentioned in leadership discussions include Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner, known for her communication skills, and Gerhard Zeiler, a veteran of the international media sector.
