SP Open WTA 250 tournament draw announced in São Paulo

The second edition of the SP Open, a WTA 250 tournament, is being held at Parque Villa-Lobos in São Paulo from September 12 to 20. The draw for the main singles bracket has been finalized, and notably, no Brazilian players will face each other in the first round.

The tournament features a total prize pool of approximately US$ 283,347 (R$ 1.5 million) and includes 32 players in the main singles draw, 16 in qualifying, and 16 in doubles.

Spanish player Paula Badosa, currently ranked 87th, is participating in her first SP Open. Badosa expressed her affection for Brazil, noting her positive past experiences in the country and her appreciation for the local culture and food as she seeks to regain her former form on the professional circuit.
