SPŠ Ostrov opens new automotive and electromobility workshops

The Secondary Industrial School (SPŠ) Ostrov in the Karlovy Vary region has launched new specialized workshops for Autotronics and Automechanics. The project aims to centralize technical training within the school's Technical Education Center, eliminating the need for students to commute to workshops in Karlovy Vary.

Equipped with modern technology valued at approximately seven million CZK, the facilities are designed to provide high-quality training for the next 10 to 15 years. The curriculum focuses on practical skills, including the assembly, disassembly, and repair of modern vehicles, with a specific emphasis on electromobility. The workshops utilize new Škoda vehicles for instructional purposes.

The project was funded by a 60 million CZK grant from the Just Transition Operational Program. The new, energy-self-sufficient building features photovoltaic systems and barrier-free access. This educational expansion is intended to prepare specialists for modern industrial operations, including the planned arrival of Daimler Trucks in Cheb.
