SP27 La Tarantina road safety works begin

Safety works have commenced on a section of the SP27 La Tarantina, a heavily trafficked road connecting the Puglia and Basilicata regions. The route is noted for a high accident rate and has been a subject of significant political and local debate.

Metropolitan Councilor Antonio Stragapede confirmed that operations have begun to secure the stretch of road immediately preceding the junction for Matera and the SS96. Additionally, the process for expropriations required to widen the provincial road is underway, with major construction work expected to begin in the summer of next year.
