SP54 roundabout construction halted due to gas network interference

Construction of a new roundabout on the SP54 provincial road, located at the intersection with Via Kennedy between Montevecchia and Lomaniga, has been halted. The project, commissioned by the Province of Lecco, was progressing following the start of site preparation on June 22.

The delay is due to the discovery of a gas pipeline that interferes with the construction site. This pipe must be relocated before work can continue. Alessandra Hofmann, President of the Province, stated that the task has been assigned to a company and is expected to be completed within the first ten days of September. She noted that this pause is not expected to impact the overall project timeline.

The roundabout is considered a vital infrastructure project for local traffic. Funding for the work includes 100,000 euros each from the municipalities of Missaglia and Montevecchia, along with 500,000 euros from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
