Space exploration: NASA Mars images and Brazilian stratospheric balloon project

Experts suggest these visual coincidences are likely due to pareidolia, a psychological phenomenon where the mind perceives recognizable patterns or meaningful shapes in random or vague stimuli.

In Brazil, the Projeto Naos is preparing for its second stratospheric balloon launch. Led by amateur astronomer and science communicator Alexsandro Mota, the project aims to send a sophisticated probe into the stratosphere, reaching altitudes between 28 and 32 km. The mission seeks to capture images of the Earth's curvature and the frontier of space, building on the success of a 2021 launch in Bahia.
