Space Launch Delta 30 launches inaugural leadership course

Space Launch Delta 30 has launched its inaugural Delta Leadership Course at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The weeklong program is designed to equip 13 commanders and senior enlisted leaders with the specific tools, relationships, and resources required to lead both Guardians and Airmen within a Space Force-led installation.

Developed locally by U.S. Air Force Col. Lawrence A. Smith II, the curriculum addresses the unique challenges faced by leaders who are transitioning to command roles in Space Force environments. The course integrates established Air Force leadership principles with local insights regarding mission structure, organizational networks, and service culture.

Col. James T. Horne III, commander of SLD 30, emphasized that the goal is to ensure squadron commanders can effectively care for their personnel while maintaining operational readiness for launch, test, and aeronautical operations essential to national security.
