SpaceX and Quantinuum lead investment focus in space and quantum sectors

Recent activity in the space and quantum computing sectors has highlighted several investment opportunities following price pullbacks in high-profile companies. SpaceX, which made history with a major IPO, and Quantinuum, a quantum computing firm formed by a merger involving Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum, have both seen share price declines.

Quantinuum recently upsized its IPO to $60 per share, raising $1.7 billion, though prices have since fluctuated. While the company reported a significant decrease in first-quarter revenue compared to 2025 and rising operating losses, it maintains a substantial cash position and recently received a $100 million award from the U.S. government.

In the space sector, analysts note that companies like Rocket Lab, Planet Labs, and SpaceX often see their share prices move in tandem due to thematic market classification, despite their differing business models. Rocket Lab focuses on launch services and defense, Planet Labs on satellite imagery, and SpaceX on launch services, Starlink, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
