SpaceX attracts billions in investment from ultra-wealthy family offices

Ultra-wealthy family offices have invested billions of dollars into SpaceX following its June 12 initial public offering. According to data compiled from US regulatory 13F filings, more than a dozen family offices held at least $3.8 billion in the company by mid-2026.

Notable investors include the family office of Hyatt heir Nick Pritzker, which held $1.8 billion in the rocket and AI company as of late June. Other significant holdings include over $100 million each from Michael Platt’s BlueCrest Capital and the Brazilian Moreira Salles dynasty. Additionally, an investment firm linked to Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared a stake of nearly $65 million.

The $75 billion IPO saw demand exceed supply by more than four times. While the stock saw significant early gains, it experienced a substantial decline in market capitalization by early August.
