SpaceX completes final Falcon 9 Starlink launch from Florida

SpaceX has completed its final planned Falcon 9 Starlink mission from the East Coast of the United States. The launch, which took place on August 25 and 26, 2026, deployed 29 satellites into low-Earth orbit from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Following this mission, all future Starlink launches from Florida will transition to the Starship rocket. Previous Falcon 9 Starlink flights from the East Coast will now be conducted from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Despite this shift for the Starlink constellation, the Falcon 9 rocket remains in service for other missions, including upcoming NASA flights.

The final Florida launch produced a “jellyfish” effect, a visual phenomenon where sunlight illuminates the expanding exhaust plume in the upper atmosphere, visible as far away as New York City. SpaceX is currently shifting its primary focus toward the Starship rocket, which is undergoing testing at Starbase in Texas.
